With recent comments such as “Simply Amazing”...“Their vocals will blow you away”...”The most entertaining show I’ve seen in a long time”...”We had a blast”. The excitement and fun are back in live music with the Carolinas’ Favorite American Band”..... SUPERGLIDE!
Formed in January 1998, this power house quintet decided they wanted to give audiences something different, unique and most of all....fun! It’s no wonder why they quickly became one of the Carolinas’ top drawing groups with their unique brand of the hits of the seventies, eighties & today. Take one part dynamic & versatile lead vocalist Joey Bishop, mix that in with the soulful and blues filled guitar of Jeff Jones backed with the driving rhythm section of drummer extraordinaire Mark Hill & the amazing Kenny Sparks on bass musically this band is on top. Now take this mixture one step further and add the missing link of Johnny Webb on Hammond B-3, piano, & keyboards combine that with the unmatchable four part harmonies of Mark, Kenny, Johnny & Jeff you now have a combination rarely seen.
SUPERGLIDE understands that audiences want to have a good time, they want a fun, exciting and entertaining show full of great music. That is exactly what SUPERGLIDE is bringing their audiences plus much, much more. Memorable fun loving music from the seventies, eighties & today that gets your blood pumping, your heart pounding and makes everyone want to get up and dance. You can’t help but have a good time! Their passion for the music is unmatched and their ability to bring it every night comes across in each and every performance. It’s no wonder why they have been setting attendance records all over. To quote one business owner, “They are simply the best band I’ve seen, very polished & professional they really know how to entertain an audience”.
Because of these qualities, SuperGlide has now performed over 1300 shows and been honored to open legendary national artists such as: The Little River Band, The Doobie Brothers, Rick Springfield, Chicago, Starship featuring Mickey Thomas, Firehouse, The Voices of Classic Rock & Bachman Turner Overdrive, just to name a few.
Unforgettable songs, incredible vocals & amazing harmonies and a band like few have seen in recent years all packed into one exciting & entertaining package. SuperGlide will give you a show that’s both fun and memorable, one like you’ve never heard or seen before. It’s definitely a great time & a show you don’t want to miss!
Joey Bishop / Lead Vocals
Born in Chicago, Illinois Joey Bishop started singing around the same time he began speaking at the age of 2 and had his first public performance when he was 7. Joey left his family in Kentucky at 19 to go to Muscle Shoals, Alabama to sing & since then has never looked back. He had been performing in numerous touring acts across the Southeast & Mid West when he got a call from a band called Crystal Ace from Charlotte in 1993 & he has been there since.
After a 6 year stint in an original project called Hard Charlie, Joey & the band received radio airplay and achieved regional success touring as the support act with 38 Special, Ringo Starr, Ace Frehley & Eddie Money. It was after these accomplishments that Joey realized it was time for a switch in direction.
He then received a call from an old drummer friend, Mark Hill, who wanted to put together something unique for this area. Our ideas & personalities clicked & SuperGlide was born. Since then SuperGlide have had the honor of sharing the stage with the band Chicago, The Doobie Brothers, The Little River Band, Rick Springfield & many others just to name a few. Now the proud father of a 9 year old daughter the memories of me singing non-stop have come full circle. “There is absolutely nothing better than the feeling of making people happy & taking them away from whatever hardships they may be experiencing, it truly is what I live for”.
Joey Bishop endorses Shure wireless microphones & Shure inner ear monitor systems as well as Westone Inner ear buds. He also uses Rhythm Tech tambourines & percussion.

Mark Hill / Drums/ Lead & Backing Vocals
Mark Hill was born in Charlotte N.C. & began playing the piano at age 4, under the direction of his Grandmother, Annelle Hill. Mrs. Hill was a renowned piano teacher in the Charlotte area for decades.
At the age of 7, Mark then became interested in the drums & the rest is history. He was given his first set of drums ($ 50.00) at the age of 7 and began jamming with older brother Marty as a duo at home entertaining family and friends. The two then began playing concerts in front of large audiences at the age of 9. Mark went into the recording studio shortly after with his brother to record an original song for a record being produced by 95Q, a Charlotte rock radio station.
In high school Mark joined his first band playing talent shows, school events & parties, all thru high school until graduating. He then went on the road playing the East Coast circuit with the popular original band, Deuce/Kid Khaos for 2 years, winning the ''Reliable Music Battle of the Bands'' that year. Tired of the road, He then began writing original material with brother Marty and with friends. During this time, Mark did numerous recording sessions and in the process, received airplay from local rock radio stations, 95.7 & 99.7.
In 1992, Mark assembled the regional powerhouse rock band, ''Phantom Park''. Phantom Park became very popular in the southeast, selling out clubs and small venues, and also opened for many national acts as well as showcasing for many record labels during their short stint together. Phantom Park was also able to get their song, ''Rainy Day'' in regular rotation on WRFX 99.7 the Fox. The song was a top 5 request record for 5 straight weeks, playing in regular prime time rotation. When music trends began changing in the 90's Phantom Park dissolved.
In 1997, after 2 years of frustrating down time. Mark then co-founded the very successful band SuperGlide, playing over 1300 shows, for 12 unbelievable years. Mark also is very active in writing and recording original songs, and doing session work for various artists, and has even produced several records to date. Mark also sings lead and back-up vocals, plays guitar, bass, and B - 3 Organ. He also plans to continue playing live shows and writing/recording and hopefully in time, sell songs and tour nationally and internationally.

Johnny Webb / Piano, Synth, Hammond B-3/ Lead & Backing Vocals
Salisbury, NC native Johnny Webb is one of those few individuals you meet in life who God just seemed to bless with over the top talent. Johnny’s musical journey began at a very early age when he started playing guitar, but upon hearing a friend’s copy of Steppenwolf’s “Magic Carpet Ride” his whole life changed. The sound of the Hammond B3 organ quickly made the guitar become an afterthought. Completely self taught & learning to play by ear Johnny began playing travelling the bar & college scene. With his heavy Styx, Foreigner & Pink Floyd influenced brand of performing he was able to attract the attention of Anderson, SC’s premiere touring act Subway in 1982.
After 5 years of constant touring Johnny stepped up yet another level and was picked up by Belinda Carlisle, lead vocalist of the 80’s multi-platinum recording artist The Go Go’s as their second touring keyboardist. While touring the US, Canada & Mexico he was able to perform with or open for many national acts such as Night Ranger, Heart, Three Dog Night & many others too numerous to mention.
In 2005 Johnny met SuperGlide lead vocalist Joey Bishop and a strong musical & personal friendship was born. When discussions began considering broadening the SuperGlide sound with keyboards Johnny’s name was a natural fit. Not only is Johnny recognized all over as one of the most talented piano & keyboard players in the southeast but also as an amazingly gifted artist. His brilliant artwork has sold across the country & can be viewed on his official website www.johnnydwebb.com.

Jeff Jones / Lead Guitar/ Lead & Backing Vocals
Great guitarists can be created over time but the true, rare & amazing ones like York, SC native Jeff Jones were born with the God given ability. Jeff grew up in a musical family & began playing at a very early age after being taught by his uncle & sites his earliest musical influences as being Chet Atkins & Jerry Reed, just to name a few. His musical versatility is unmatched & includes many styles such as classical, jazz, rock, country & blues.
Jeff began playing guitar professionally at the ripe old age of 15 & performed in front of a live audience at the PTL organization in Ft Mill, SC. After completing his guitar studies at Winthrop College he began doing local session work in the North & South Carolina regions, having participated in numerous local television productions, and touring the Carolinas as a guitarist for public education programs.
